Brazilian Crush started as a passion project by two best friends, Sofia and Juliana, who wanted to share their love for all things Brazil. As natives of Rio de Janeiro, they grew up surrounded by the lively culture, tropical scents, and natural beauty of Brazil.
After moving to the United States as adults, Sofia and Juliana yearned for the familiar aromas of their homeland. They began blending essential oils that reminded them of Brazil, creating unique perfumes inspired by Brazilian nature, culture, and spirit.
In 2018, Sofia and Juliana launched Brazilian Crush to introduce the rest of the world to the enticing scents of Brazil. We offer a range of tantalizing perfumes, body mists, candles, and more—all infused with our signature Brazilian essences.
Our Story
Sofia and Juliana met as children on the beaches of Ipanema. They quickly bonded over their shared love of samba, capoeira, and finding hidden waterfalls in the tropical rainforest surrounding Rio.
As teenagers, the girls spent countless hours walking the cobblestone streets of Santa Teresa, gathering wildflowers and sampling exotic fruits from street vendors. They would bring their finds back to Sofia’s kitchen, where they would experiment with different essential oils and botanicals. Their homemade perfumes were a huge hit with friends and family.
When Sofia got accepted to university in New York City, she knew she couldn’t leave her kindred spirit behind. Juliana soon joined her and they settled into life in the United States together.
While they loved their new home, Sofia and Juliana found themselves homesick for the lush landscapes and familiar scents of Brazil. One particularly cold winter, they decided to recreate some of their favorite Brazilian-inspired perfumes to remind them of home.
After months of testing and refining, the girls finally developed formulas they loved. Their friends couldn’t get enough of the fresh, sexy scents and begged them to make more.
In 2018, Sofia and Juliana launched their Etsy shop, Brazilian Crush, fully committing to growing their hobby into a brand. They started with a small collection of perfumes and body mists in their most popular scents.
As word spread, orders started pouring in from around the world. Sofia and Juliana brought on a small staff to help blend and bottle their products. They also expanded their collection to include luxurious beauty products featuring Brazilian ingredients like açaí berry, coconut oil, and guaraná.
In 2022, Brazilian Crush opened their first brick-and-mortar boutique in New York City. Today, their products are sold online, in high-end beauty retailers globally, and in their flagship stores in NYC, Miami, and Los Angeles.
Through it all, Brazilian Crush has stayed true to Sofia and Juliana’s mission to capture the spirit, culture, and exotic allure of their beloved Brazil.

Sofia, Co-Founder
Sofia oversees creative direction and product development, ensuring every formula meets her high standards. Her lifelong love of botanicals shines through in our spa-quality products. Sofia holds a degree in Chemistry and a passion for Bukowski.
Juliana, Co-Founder
Juliana keeps the business running smoothly as our CEO. Her leadership and strategic vision have guided Brazilian Crush’s rapid growth. Juliana has an MBA from NYU and is a proud mother of two rescue pups.
Rodrigo, Head Chemist
Our resident “Scientist of Scent,” Rodrigo expertly balances complex formulas for maximum benefits and sensory impact. Before joining us, he earned his PhD in Botanical Sciences from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro.
Tatiana, Creative Director
Tatiana leads our design team to craft branding, packaging, and visuals that transport you to Brazil. She is a graduate of Miami Ad School who loves art, fashion, and female empowerment.
Marco, Supply Chain Manager
Marco ensures we ethically source the highest-quality Brazilian ingredients to meet our production needs. He has over 15 years of experience building transparent, sustainable supply chains.
Ana, Retail Manager
Our effervescent retail manager Ana makes sure our boutiques run smoothly while providing excellent customer service. She has a degree in Hospitality Management from FIU.
